Welcome,this is a competition where we invite an artist, designer or a hacker to show his/her skills to make a logo for us which will be our official one ;) [You can be famous yay !] We are hackers & can make things work the way we like ... So you gotta a chance to prove.Wake your slept artist up & invent something really cool [A glance is enough to kill people ;)].

Don't worry we will be awarding you GOOGLE Pendrive [Yes man , it is truth it's googles' wow :)]

Submission Guidelines :

So here are the rules which can easier your path to Google thing ;)

The logo should symbolize and represent the initiatives of the open source, of course . It should also suggest the principles, objectives, participants and audience of open source in one way or other .

• Include either the name or initials of the LUGB .
• Must NOT use elements of any existing LUG logo, design should be original .
• Should be simple .
• Should be logo, not poster .
• While the logo needs to look good at relatively small sizes, it will not need to be shrunk for use as a Favicon.
• It should be attractive, recognizable and memorable for various audiences – mass media and the general public.
• And Completely ignore what your parents and/or spouse think about the design.
• We would recommend, choose function over innovation.
• It should be honest in its representation.
• The design of logo should function in all anticipated usage environments (e.g. Internet sites, e-mailings, hard copy, projected image) .
• The logo must not break any of the above rules. :)

ENTRIES & DEADLINES :

Deadline for submission of entries is 25 September 2010 at 23:59 -8:00GMT. No entries sent after this time will be accepted.

ALL ENTRIES ARE TO BE SUBMITTED BY THE ONLINE ENTRY FORM (must register as user first).

Submit logo files according to the following specifications. Submissions not meeting these crietria will not be accepted.

1. A single image file including both B&W and color versions of logo on a white background (no transparency), in either .GIF or .PNG format .
2. Do not forget to attach your original file format  so we can use it later to resize it accordingly .  For e.g. XCF etc.

SELECTION OF FINALISTS & WINNER :

Finalists will be notified by 26  September, 2010.

We will contact the finalists directly. Please do not contact regarding the award status.

The winning entry will be announced and presented on 27 September 2010  &  don't worry it will be everywhere with your name, after all this is open source ;)

PRIZES :

The prizes to winners will be as follows:

• Winner "Google Pen Drive"
• 2nd Finalist : Google Pen's , Tshirt & Google Diary .
